Things to do on the cheap...

I adore motorsport. F1, MotoGP, WSBK, ALMS...I love them all. Watching them on TV is one thing, but being in the pits and experiencing the sounds and smells is something totally different. Now this poses a problem for someone living in Toronto without time or money to get to see the action first hand.

John to the rescue.

I have discovered that as long as you sign over your life on the waiver, all the local car and bike clubs at the different tracks around Toronto allow you to observe for free!  Obviously, this is a far cry from the real deal, but it scratches the itch between race weekends.

Not to mention you can meet some cool people along the way:

Marcel Irnie - an independent racer, showing me a thing or two about "hanging off".  He was camped out at Shannonville for two weeks prior to the race before heading home to Kelowna, B.C.
